The Journey That Led To the New Gambia

The Gambian political  pendulum has been swinging for quite some time and the ebb and flow that ushered the tides of change have been indecisive for over two decades. Many false starts and lost opportunities that only entrenched the despot's resolve to clamp down further. As he clenched his iron fist on the defenseless population of our beautiful nation, he galvanised our resolve to liquidate him by any means possible. Yes all options were on deck to get rid of the Butcher of Kanilai. This led to the unfortunate incident of December 30 2015.

The outcome of D30/15 excercirbated the Gambian patience with regards to the reign of the Despot and gave birth to a formidable resistance never witnessed on Gambian soil. Comrade Solo Sandeng up the ante by amplifying our collective frustration. He paid the ultimate price in his quest for an equitable Gambia that respects our aspirations and guarantee our rights as espoused by the constitution. Our collective conscience was awoken by the symbolic March led by Comrade Darboe to request for answers about the fate of Sandeng and co. This March was met with brute force coordinated by the viscious capo Ousman Badgie whose convoluted mind knows no mercy. Darboe and co were crushed but not demoralised and this spelled doom for the Butcher in Chief as Gambians with conscience have finally resigned to their fate that this man has transformed our paradise under the sun into a fiefdom that is reminiscent of jungle justice and vigilanteism. The Butcher and his cohorts setup shop to prosecute the gallant agitators of justice in a kangaroo court planned and executed by a wretched scum of the earth called Dishonorable Mama Singhateh who shamelessly ordered her gang of mercenaries to usurp justice and serve the whimps and caprices of a delusional demon called the Butcher of Kanilai. This unfortunate saga created charlatans like injustice Otaba, Dada and other prostitutes of conscience that who will forever be fresh in our national psyche for quite some time.

The daily show of defiance and disgust coupled with brazen road blocks and security obstacles to the tiny island of Banjul set the stage for the election agenda and outcome of what I called Decision 2016. A lot of talk, back door negotiations and social pressures ensued and gave birth to the grand coalition that ushered in our new dawn. Gambians expect a lot from this new dispensation but high on our shopping list is justice and truth for the heinous acts committed under the watch of the butcher with the help of  the Czar of Marina Parade Yankuba Badgie, Operation bulldozer, infamous assassin crew called Jungullars, Ousman Sonko and mercenaries in suit and ties led by Mama Singhateh. We want the third rebuplic to take heed that this request is paramount as it was the cornerstone of our vote to oust the despot. Institutional reforms to efface impunity and harassment Must be dealt with immediately. Economic plundering orchestrated by the public enterprises (Gamtel, Ports, SSHFC, NAWEC Etc.) that should have been complimenting  budgetary support of the national coffers by the expe ted dividends have turned out to be economic liabilities to the state for they have contracted more debt in our name as Gambians and as share holders in their going concerns, we haven't seen any tangible economic dividend that has brought prosperity or comfort to the population.

The last ditch effort to defend our votes between the 9th of December to the 19th of January must send a clear message to the coalition that Gambians were fed up with business as usual and will not condone or accept anything less than our well deserved aspirations. Happy weekend to all and hope that The New Gambia is loading albeit a slow download speed but come Monday morning Gambia will be open for business to address the very issues that many paid the ultimate price fighting for.

For the Gambia I remain ever true
